Of all the “Oceana was always at war with Eastasia” things Trump’s gotten his base to believe, contrary to everything that base used to believe, the “Putin’s cool; Russia’s cool” platform is the most ridiculous of them all. Don’t get me wrong, there’s stiff competition. “Billionaires care about poor and middle-class white people” and “Jesus loves Trump” are almost as incomprehensible, but turning a group of people who’ve distrusted and disliked Russia/USSR for generations into pro-Putin apologists takes the cake. But let’s face it, what percentage of Americans are capable or reading *and understanding* the Mueller Report? That it really said, “yeah, they did collude and broke dozens of laws, but I won’t say so for sure because Nixon wrote a memo saying not to, and they stonewalled us so much that we never got most of the evidence we asked for, and something something Congress, something something separation-of-powers?”

Many, many Americans can only understand ONE if-then statement. If the thing you’re explaining has more than one, it won’t work. Even better if it has ZERO…and can be written in all-caps. Like: FAKE NEWS!

Well-written, informative and clear, it would be great if people read this article and took it seriously. Your knowledge of this charade is impressive and the subject should still be front-page news.

What to do??

Gummies. Lots and lots of gummies.

Thanks Andy. I wish I knew how to reach more people, but my dry deep dives are not exactly what most people want to read even if they knew where to find me. And to your point, the low level of critical reasoning in the general public is really sad.

So frustrating to watch things play out in predictably horrible fashion but here we are. Definitely laying into the gummies!
